PARTHENIA

Story

She was a water before she was a city

Parthenope was a siren. In the oldest version of the story she fails to hold Odysseus, throws herself into the sea, and washes ashore on the rock where the city would later stand. The Greeks named the city after her. Naples was called Parthenope for centuries before it was called anything else.

We did not choose the name because it sounded expensive. We chose it because the founding story of Naples is a story about water — and so is ours.

The bean in the mark is where the last letter should be. Read it either way.
