PARTHENIA
A bar counter set up for wholesale supply

For cafés, restaurants, hotels and offices

An Italian coffee supplier that starts with your water

Parthenia supplies Neapolitan espresso to venues across the European Union — beans, ground, ESE pods and compostable capsules. What makes the offer different from every other Italian supplier is that we start from the water in your postcode, not from our own story: we publish the hardness your utility reports and we match the blend to it.

Why your water decides more than your supplier admits

The same beans taste different in Munich and in Sofia, and it is not the machine. Water is most of what is in the cup, and its mineral content changes what the cup does. Two numbers matter and they are not the same number: total hardness, which drives body and weight, and alkalinity, which buffers acidity. A venue in a hard-water city and a venue in a soft-water city are brewing two different drinks from the same bag — which is why we ask where you are before we recommend anything.

What we can prove, and what we cannot

The water figures are your utility's, not ours: every city page names the authority that published the number and links it. That part is checkable to the decimal. The blend recommendation is our own judgement — no peer-reviewed study validates a blend-to-water rule, and we say so on the site rather than letting you find out later. We would rather you trusted the part that is verifiable.

Formats built for a service bar

The 1 kg beans and the ESE pods are the professional formats; the rest exists for retail shelves and for staff who take a bag home. Every capsule and pod is compostable, which matters where municipal rules are tightening.

Pods and capsules are compostable. Aluminium is somebody else's argument.

What happens when you write

  1. You tell us where you are and how you serve. The recommendation starts from the water in your postcode, so the city matters more than the volume at this stage.
  2. We reply with the conditions: minimum order, lead times, formats and how to get samples. In the first reply, not after three emails.
  3. If the fit is not there, we say so straight away. A supplier who spends your time before telling you no has cost you more than one who never answered.

Questions we get asked

Which countries do you supply?
We ship across the European Union. The site is published in English, Italian, German, French and Bulgarian because those are the markets we serve first.
Can we taste before we commit?
Yes. Tell us your city and how you brew, and we will tell you which of the three blends your water points to before anything is ordered.
Do you roast your own coffee?
We do not own a roastery. Parthenia is roasted in Italy by a partner roaster to our profiles. We say this plainly because a supplier who implies a plant they do not have is a supplier you will stop trusting on the first factory question.
Is Parthenia already trading?
Not yet. We are pre-launch and taking enquiries rather than orders. If that rules us out for now, it is better you know at the top of the page than at the bottom of a quote.

Tell us your city and how you serve

We will look up your water, name the blend it points to, and tell you what we can and cannot do for a venue your size.

We use what you write here to answer you, and for nothing else. No sharing, no newsletter unless you ask.
